From 11 to 22 November, COP29, the next conference on climate change, will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
1. For Climate, to COP29 , we want the Belgian government and the European Union to refuse the presence of fossil fuel lobbies in their delegations , and we support the https://fossilfreepolitics.org/campaign.
We want to express our solidarity with the demands of vulnerable countries, citizens' movements, NGOs and scientists for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty based on 3 pillars (a halt to new fossil fuel exploitation, a gradual phase-out of current fossil fuel exploitation, and a just transition that respects workers and populations).

We want Belgium and the 27 EU Member States to respect the Paris Agreement on climate change and the European Green and Social Pact.
Every year, the EU fuels the climate catastrophe by devoting the equivalent of 405 billion euros in public subsidies to fossil fuels. This must stop. www.stopfossilsubsidies.eu
We say no to the EU-Mercosur Treaty, which is likely to be approved at the next G20 summit and will worsen deforestation in Amazonia and weaken many farmers through unfair competition.
Solidarity with all environmental and human rights activists imprisoned around the world, including Captain Paul Watson #Free Paul Watson
2. For peace, we are also marching in solidarity with civilian victims (in Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan, etc.) and rejecting war and military escalation between the major 5powers.
We endorse the manifesto of the 3rd World March for Peace and Non-Violence, to be held throughout the world from 2 October 2024 to 4 January 2025.

3. For social justice, we say no to the EU's austerity policies and yes to strengthening essential public services (water, health, etc.).
